Swimming, lidos and beaches
Canton Ticino benefits from both the extraordinary beauty of the lake and that of the valleys with their crystal-clear rivers. There are numerous bathing establishments and beaches where you can relax for a few hours in the summer.
Two stand out above the rest: the Lido di Ascona and the Lido Locarno, home to Switzerland’s biggest beaches. Both offer a comprehensive service, with a children’s area available in addition to shops and catering. There is a Stand Up Paddle centre near the hotel where you can rent SUP boards, attend courses and, on request, plan organized trips with a guide.

The region has plenty to offer golf enthusiasts. There are thirteen courses near the Hotel Ascona, including – just five minutes from the hotel – the courses in Ascona, Losone and Locarno.

With over thirty rental stations, the E-bike Park Ticino allows you to explore the canton in a different way. You can rent your e-bike near the Hotel Ascona and set off to discover magnificent places and attractions of inestimable historical and cultural importance.

These highly characteristic local craft and food shops are also the best place to find genuine products.

CULTURE
Culture also goes hand in hand with art: don’t miss the Luigi Pericle Archive at the Hotel Ascona, the starting point for a visit to the Museo di Monte Verità, the hill where intellectuals and artists gathered in the 20th century in search of alternative values and lifestyles. The Museo d’Arte Moderna in Ascona with its extraordinary permanent collection, the Museo del Castello San Materno, the Fondazione Marguerite Arp, the Museo Casorella and the Fondazione Ghisla form a unique artistic circuit.
A land of cinema, music and architecture. But that’s not all! Sacred mountains, art galleries and museums convey different aspects of the Lake Maggiore region. The lakeside city of Locarno is famous all over the world for its Locarno Festival, one of Europe’s most important cultural events. The past is commemorated by the Sacro Monte (or sacred mountain) with the shrine of the Madonna del Sasso.

ATTIVITÀ BALNEARI, LIDI E SPIAGGE
Il Ticino è un cantone che vanta il lusso di poter offrire – contemporaneamente – montagna, lago e fiume. Di conseguenza, sono moltissimi i lidi e le spiagge dove è possibile godere di qualche ora di relax con la bella stagione. Tra le attività richieste nelle vicinanze dell’Hotel, segnaliamo il SUP sul Lago Maggiore fino alle Isole di Bissago, dove poi è possibile visitare il magnifico parco botanico.
E se invece preferite rilassarvi sulle rive del Lago, il Lido di Ascona è la scelta ideale: si tratta di uno dei lidi con le spiagge più grandi della Svizzera e che offre un servizio completo mettendo a disposizione dei clienti un’area bimbi, negozi e servizi di ristorazione.
